In an instant, you recall the horrors of the past and see a familiar, delicate figure standing unheeded among the survivors. Your screams are choked by gouts of black water spewing from your mouth.
Nominate a survivor with the [[Blotted Out]] fighting art to **remember**. If no survivors have Blotted Out, then **Reveal the Horror** and the Slenderman [[Rules/Ambush|ambushes]] the survivors.

| 10 | The survivor's mind shatters. They die.<br><br>The survivor may avoid this by accepting their memory and **Reveal the Horror**. If they do, they gain the **Spiral Ganglia** disorder and +2 understanding. |
### Reveal the Horror
The Slenderman's shape ripples into view before the survivors' eyes.
If there is a **Nemesis Encounter - Slenderman** on the timeline this year, remove it.
Stop the settlement phase and depart for a **Special Showdown** with the Slenderman. After the showdown, resume the settlement phase. Do not gain Endeavor, draw a settlement event card, or advance the lantern year.
