The Lion Knight dramatically falls prone and begins a well-rehearsed finale. The retinue draws the survivors near to hear the Lion Knight's soliloquy
"There was once a woman. Her body was a testament to her life of struggle and survival. She was beyond her limit. No longer could she nourished on determination alone. She was going to die."
"With her last shred of strength, she dug for a paltry meal through a flinty crack, but her fingernail broke on the rock. As blood trickled from her hand, she slipped into oblivion."
"A hero appeared. Transfixed by the beauty of the scene. The hero was moved. Of course, a hero does not need a reason to do what they must."
In a practised, whispered tone, the Lion Knight speaks: "This time, it is you, the true heroes, who have saved me. Your struggle is beautiful and has revealed much. Goodbye." A mask is laid over the Lion Knight's face. Stifled tears break the silence.
The retinue produces a grand coffin from stage left and gently places the Lion Knight inside. Hefting it over their heads, they vanish into the darkness.
Relieved and confused, the survivors mill about awkwardly. One of them finds a small manuscript the retinue left behind.
The settlement loses the **Black Mask/White Mask** Innovation (**archive** it). If the settlement innovated **Pictographs**, they read the manuscript. It details the battles between the Lion Knight and the survivors. Its title is suggestive, The Villain and the Heroes That Saved Him.
Nominate a survivor to study the manuscript. They gain the [[Courtly Screenwriter]] secret fighting art.
