## Intro
> A mantle of ash falls over the settlement. As the survivors gather, a roasting gust of cinder blazes through the crowd. The smell of singeing hair and skin stings their nostrils.
>
> A flash of light splits the darkness, illuminating the approaching shape of an enormous knight holding a massive ornate maul. Great plumes of inky smoke pour from every gap of the knight's golden armor.
>
> The Gold Smoke Knight speaks in an unknown language, a hollow metallic voice echoing from its armor. It stands at ease, awaiting its challengers.
## Nemesis (Skip Hunt)
Departing survivors do not have a Hunt phase. Gold Smoke Knight may not be chosen for a Nemesis Encounter unless it is Lantern Year 30 on the timeline.
## Special Rules
#### Multi-Zone effects
The Gold Smoke Knight introduces attacks that affect multiple zones in different ways.
For example, **Blacken** affects survivors in two zones: the Smash zone (purple) and Ash Zone (blue). Be sure to apply effects in the order listed on the card. In this case, survivors in the Smash zone suffer damage, then survivors in the Ash zone suffer damage, then survivors in either zone suffer **knockback**. A survivor cannot be in both zones simultaneously.
#### Hits Outside of Attack Profiles
The Gold Smoke Knight has attacks that cause hits without attack rolls. Survivors can dodge, block, deflect, or otherwise ignore these hits as normal.
The hits and resulting damage specified outside attack profiles are not modified by the monster's attributes or tokens.
If no hit location is specified, roll the hit location die.
For example, survivors in Cinder Sundering's Ash Zone suffer 1 hit for 6 damage to each location if they are wearing metal gear or 1 hit of 3 damage to each location if they are not.
Those hits can be avoided as though they came from an attack profile. However, survivors still suffer any additional effects, even if they avoid the hits and their subsequent damage. So metal clad survivors still suffer bash and all other survivors still suffer **knockback 7** and 3 brain damage.

#### Terrain & Deployment
- Draw 3 random terrain cards, set up normally.
- Place the Gold Smoke Knight in the center (RED) of the board.
- Place the survivors in the Blue spaces
- The Survivor carrying the Final Lantern gains the Priority Target Token.
- **The Gold Smoke Knight goes first no matter what!!!**

## Aftermath
#### Victory
The Gold Smoke Knight collapses, its swollen gut gushing rusty smoke. A red pall blankets the settlement. Teh survivors' weary eyes grow heavy and they collapse one by one. Face to face with the stone ground they fall into a breathless slumber. Dead. Story Event ![[Story_EventIcon_black.png]] [[Game Over]].
#### Defeat
The Gold Smoke Knight drops the Final Lantern on the Watcher's corpse, bringing the maul down on the remains. The explosion incinerates flesh, cloth, hair, and skin. The Knight moves amongst the dead, arranging their bones and lighting the smile of each skull with a glowing ember. Story Event ![[Story_EventIcon_black.png]] [[Game Over]].
